Simple Screen Modification

Hi Guys, I tought I'd share a simple cost effective screen modification that transformed my riding experience. I'm 6'2" with my height coming from a long back (32" inside leg) and as such my head sits highish on the bike. I found I was getting a very annoying buffeting that simply left the bike uncomfortable after about half an hour or so.

The bike is a 2001 MK1 model and is fitted with the MRA adjustable screen (can be seen here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MRA-HONDA-XL-1000-V-VARADERO-SCREEN-1999-02-VARIO-SCREEN-WINDSCREEN-SMOKED-32119-/200919524355?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2ec7bca40

The MRA screen is adjustable, but only over a small height range with no tilt adjustment.

There is a expensive bit of kit that can be bought for the MK2 screen that allows you to adjust the height and tilt, but this costs almost ?100.

With 4 bolts (2 x 25mm M6 & 2 x 45mm M6 dome head stainless steel bolts) I was able to increase the height by about 1" and tilt the top of the screen by about 35mm, this has made the ride so comfortable, there is not a hint of buffetting and the wind noise has reduced immensly. I can even ride with my visor fully up and and there is next to no wind in my face. Anyhow I'm very pleased with the results and I thought it might be off interest to someone.

I will attempt to post a few photos:
