Fabric two piece suit recommendations wanted

It's time for some new kit for me and Judy and I've decide that this time I'll do it differently, ie I wont go to the nearest shop and buy what's in their sale.
So what's good in the way of waterproof and warm jackets and trews? and available in the UK.
Fairly large bloke size for me and average sized ladies for judy .

I heartily recommend the Hein Gericke stuff. Expensive but easily worth every penny.

I think it's difficult to beat Hein Gericke for a combination of Quality and Price.

It's not cheap but it's not as expensive as some of the other Quality makes and they have sizes to suit most waistlines.

Anyone watch  "The Real A&E" showing on the box at the mo? 

The wife and kids do and recorded one just for me.  One of the programs this week(?)  had a bloke that needed to be airlifted to hospital after he came off his sports bike (was riding out in a pack of 20 and was the one that didn't make the corner).

When they were working on him roadside he seemed to be wearing just a pair of jeans and a jacket and his left leg just below the knee was a complete mess (not the only injuries he had BTW).  2" long bone fragments from his leg were collected up off the road by paramedics and he had 10oz steak sized holes in his calf/lower leg.  I didn't have chance to watch it all as I had some errands to do but they were saying that it was doubtful that they could save his leg below the knee.

...Silly Fecker.  Fancy wearing jeans (even if they were Kevlar enhanced).  :uglystupid2:

Have a look at Richa.  Some of the lower priced stuff isn't as trick as other makes but is still great VFM and quality. I bought an "adventure" jacket back in March for ?135. So far, it's seen 35C heat, deluge, and blizzard. Plenty of vents to keep cool and hasn't let a drop of water in yet.  :beer:

I would have thought the '...Silly fecker'  was more appliclable to trying to ride beyond his ability- there are plenty of those about too.

Anyone who relies upon biking gear to protect them from anything other than nasty weather and  road-rash is indeed 'living the dream'!

Yep - Even me. :batz:  However, when I (occasionally) have I have been very conscious that I don't have adequate protection and adapted my style of riding to suite (i.e. even more cautious than I normally would - and it would never be for a days fast riding with 19 mates - more like a 5 mile errand on me tod )

Agreed - riding beyond his ability hits the nail right on the head. No doubt they ware all trying to out ride each other at the time of the accident.

Heine Gericke thirded.
Good quality, lasts well and a great range of sizes for men and women.
My Cruise II is now 5 years old. bone dry and not too shabby even though never been washed. Ok it was just over ?600 for the jacket and trousers but works out at ?10 per month (I ride all year) to stay warm, dry, protected and comfortable. Absolutely love the bib and brace for winter.

As Lazyrider says, if you can afford it go for Goretex.

It's not usually put into crap gear.

I cannot vouch for the Hein gericke gear but I have used Dainese stuff for years and find its great, their Goretx/nylon stuff is waterproof/windproof and has good body armour. I had Rukka gear but found the leggings used to leak around the knees for some reason so went back to dainese

When I bought my Deauville four years ago, Reading Honda were doing a deal,  ?500 worth of clothing with every bike purchase - so I kitted myself out with Rev'it Gore-Tex jacket and trousers.

They have both lasted well, washed well and seen me through three winters but I always got the feeling that my ar$e and lower back were wet damp. This was never the case though as I have always been dry :O|

Would I use Rev'it again... I don't know.  Maybe there are better brands out there and maybe there aren't.  As I got them through a dealer offer when I bought a bike I can't complain too much I suppose.

Ring the shop in advance and get them to put a labels on a few items with at least 3 times the real price.
