reason asking i tend to get pain in my right arm resulting in numbness in my right hand so was considering the risers to see if they would help or is it just old age

When I bought my VD in March I fitted a pair of Nippy Norman bar risers that I used to have on my old R1150GS. No issues with cable length but they did cause the controls to bang against my tank bag  when turning lock to lock (not full lock either).

After returning from a recent trip to France I've taken the risers off with the added bonus that the seat isn't as uncomfortable as I though it was because I'm sitting slightly forward now.

 Hi Del95,

The following are pictures of the SW-Motech Handlebar Raisers I have fitted.  :)

The said Raisers are not actually what I ordered. I did order the 25mm up and 25mm back (which, apparently are no longer available). What I received are the new replacement Raisers which are 31mm up and 22mm back!

This only caused one cable problem, the bracket holding brake cable at right hand yolk/fork top. Rather than leave loose, I unbolted bracket, and replaced it with lower hole retained with top bolt, leaving half of bracket stood above top of yolk!!!

The Raisers are from Motohaus in the UK-

The result for me, a more comfy riding position, better control on cornering and slow manoeuvering.

I had the same problem as you with right hand and discomfort across shoulders on long rides. This has helped with both and I am allot happier with my riding position.

Of course this might not suit everyone, but as I said I am very happy... :) :) :)

Hope this helps you.

Regards, Alex.
