..the aftermaket cans.. the manufacturers probably would make the standard cans "meatier" but have emmisions and noise legislation to deal with.

..crash bars? The manufacturers assume that the people buying the bikes can ride the feckers...
Team DNF is now just waiting for another arse kicking...

Why lift the rear?
If your bike sags too much either beef up the pre-load or buy a better quality shock.
Jacking up the tail will undoubtedly 'sharpen' the steering angle and make it turn in quicker but then you need a front end that can take the forces being put on it... you would need a better fork set up and probably a brace ... thats if your good enough to notice the difference of course ... any post 03 Vara will handle ok if the OEM equipment is working properly .... spend the money on riding lessons if you want to go quicker .... BUT if your motive is purely 'cosmetic'  so it looks good in the car park then feel free to spend spend spend...
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path..... and leave a trail...!

.....and remember, "Light travels faster than the speed of sound, which is why some people appear bright until they speak"

i?m the same height! Today i made a "copy" of the MRA variotouring screen for my Vara! I used a 10*25cm Lexan-plate and mounted it on the original screen set on the highest setting! It was brilliant! I?m got rid of all the turbulence and most of the windnoice! it was comfortable in 160km/h ! I could easily drive whith my visor up in that speed!!!!

chad

that sounds cool :good: have you got any pics?
used to ride a GS but im cured now :-)

Forceman
