I plan to check/balance my carbs this weekend

I have an old Morgan Carbtune (Mercury version)

The Bike has Motad Stainless headers

Do I still adjust to 30mm HG difference between front and rear carb?

I guess my Carbtune is calibrated in cmHG so there should be 3cms different?

A job that not many people get right!

Before you start, you need to make sure everything is in good order.  Starting with the air filter and air box, inlet tubes, carbs, spark plugs and valve clearances.

If you are not 100% sure about the main jets being factory-standard, it's best to check and clean them - just in case a previous owner changed them (many do).

When I got it, it wouldn't start or run due to blocked jets, as it had been stood for over two years with a full tank of fuel.

The pilot jets should be both #38, but I only had one 38 and a 40 so i fitted a 38 to the front and a 40 to the rear carb.

The main jets were hard to read 85 front 92  rear but I might have misread them as they are so dirty/corroded I've fitted a 88 front an 94 rear as those are the closest Keihin jets I had.

It is running rich by the carbon coming out of the exhaust., but it pops a little on over run which I though was an indicator of running lean ???

Bike has Simota cotton filter with the airbox intake restrictor (elephant nostril looking bit) removed, Motad headers, Delkevic link pipe and Delkevic Titanium silencer so I thought it would need upjetting?

Tested the carb sticks with the rear cylinder and both sides of the gauge were reading 17cm/hg at idle.
I've bought a Motion Pro 90 Degree Carb Tool, 08-0229 to adjust the mixture, and I'll dig out my 10mm colortune plug.
