Rear Shock gone

I nearly had an off yesterday, rear shock blew its seal in a corner and dropped its oil going all bouncy.

I've got a 2006.  Does anyone know if all rear shocks are the same?  I don't want to pay ?300 for a new one, but have seen a 2008 version for ?100.

If there's a Motorcross specialist near you, see if they can rebuild it. I know is the earlier models couldn't be rebuilt, but it's worth asking.

I'm pretty sure the only difference between the 06 and 08 are purely cosmetic.
