Duncan

I had an email back from Scottoiler today with the pictures you mention.

If anyone would like me to email them, drop me a line.

Redeye, you mentioned that you took the feed from between the two Vs rather then the front like Scottoiler advise.

Do you think it works better, the same or is it just an access solution.

The only shots they had were the ones I sent them when I was trying to get mine fitted correctly. I've got the photos if you need them but are a bit big for the forum.
I'll stick a small version here of the recommended position for the tee-piece.

Ignore #1 and #2, the tee-piece has to go between the brown plaggie bit and the head - just not enough room!

What a palaver  :o

Finally got the Scottoiler re-connected by Two Wheels on Saturday (-first one they fitted, the tube seared shut against the exhaust), as well as getting an NWS plain black hugger fitted.

Well, I've just spent a while giving the bike a really good clean, only to get to the swingarm and find that the last part of the oiler, that sits at the chain/sprocket, is not there  >:(.  Not only that, but rather than put a new tube on to replace the seared one, they've spliced it using a connector  ??? :o >:(  And the connection is loose Grrrr

I'm now in the process of changing my name to "unhappychappy". If they can't do this correctly, what's a service going to be like?
Slice; have you had any problems with Two Wheels?

Good evening from the Biarritz of the North

That sounds like a real pain, Mr H. I've had dealings with Two Wheels for the last twenty years, and I can honestly say that I have had no quibble with the quality of the work they've carried out for me. The only problem I have had has been with the length of time it seems to take to obtain parts on order. I am currently waiting for a hugger and fender extender to arrive. I will now check my Scottoiler in the light of your experience.

Some dealers in Edinburgh have a dodgy reputation, but Two Wheels are generally reckoned to be very sound.

Anyway, I'm sitting here with a fine Wolf Blass Cabernet Sauvignon, and the prospect of a week's leave from work. So its over and out from a mellow Easter Monday evening in the Biarritz of the North.

Ooooohhhh; hark at him with his "Wolf's Piss" watchamacallit wine. Corner shop out of Buckie again? Wife's finished the Mad Dog 20/20?

;D ;D

Sounds lovely. I waited almost 5 weeks for them to get the hugger, and then 2 0r 3 weeks to get it booked into the workshop !

And watch out when washing the bike (- or at least have the decency to warn your servants)- those huggers have got sharp edges; I've got the scars to prove it, now.  :(

Have a nice holiday  ;)

In my experience most people in the west seem to have scars, so nothing new there then. Do you remember when Jim Watt had that fight in New York in '83? '84? He was asked in a pre-fight interview how he felt about fighting at 2.00am in the morning (the scheduled time for the fight). "Nae bother" he said, "everybody in Glasgow fights at 2 o'clock in the mornin'." Brilliant.

Wolf Pi$$ - highly recommended. You know the more I have, the more profound and meaningful this forum becomes. Weird or what?

I was gonna get a Scotoiler,........ but readin' this lot,.... think I'll just get a can of 3-in-1 and a elastic band.

Chaps,

I fitted one to my 2000 carb model when I got it. I used the oiler from my old GPz1100, and added it to a touring resevoir. The best way to do a tidy job is to strip off the plastics and tank, then carefully route the pipe along side the wiring and cross the bike by going through the open round tube in the frame in front of the battery. Then attach the tube to the swing arm as near to the pivot as possible. I used a padded P-clip bolted to the front chain guard mount. Tiewrap the rest of it in place.  The injector nozzle is on the metal bracket that came with the oiler, held in place by the axle. The "power" for it is taken from the rear carb balance stub, where it goes onto a blanking point on the airbox.

I've not had any problems with this set up and it works a treat. Also, I'm a tight wad, so I use old engine oil in it rather than the proper stuff. Works fine, but you need to turn the flw down in summer as the oil thins out.

Cheers

Dave.

Slice; hopefully your cellar is well stocked and Jeeves has got his running shoes on. Anyway, I listened to that Wolf Blass Cabaret Souvenir CD I got free with The Sun; quite a tight wee 4-piece, jazz-blues-fusion combo. From the bad side of Haddington, I believe. Real hep cats. Man.

MacValk; mebbe the solution is to get a Scottoiler, but fill it with Slice's Wolf Juice  ??? Best of both worlds, perhaps?

varadave; Fitted it as you described, whilst in the garage (out of the rain). One thing; were your instructions from a nearside or offside perspective? I think I got lost halfway through, 'cos the oiler won't work unless I've got the strimmer running at the same time ?

:D ;D :D ;D

Working from the rear  ;)  Resevoir located behind number plate on mudguard. Oiler on right of resevoir. vacuum pipe and oil pipe routed upwards between r/h muffler and mudguard. There is a cut out where the mudguard bolt goes, drill a hole at the top of the cutout to put the pipes through. I put a tiewrap on the pipes just before going into the hole, to keep them away from the heat sheild on the exhaust. Run the pipes along side the frame members away from where the seat goes. Poke the delivery tube through the round frame member I mentioned. Generally tiewrap into place along the swing arm. Job done.

have fun!
