Tire guage

Not a problem but just curious, I pumped my tires up to 35 psi using an analogue 12v pump. When I checked it on a new digital pump it read 17.5psi ,I bought a new digital gauge which also reads 17.5 psi. The tyre says 40 psi max but at 35 it's rock solid. I'm wondering why the digital readings are only 17.5 psi. If I inflated the tires to 35 psi on that it would explode. Why would the digital readings be so low.. like I said I'm just curious as I'll pump the tires to 17 / 17.5 now.       .....David.....        just noticed that the readings are exactly half of what I need on both items, very strange. 🤔

Are you 100% certain that the digital readings are in PSI and not bar (or dbar ). Can you see the decimal point ?
I wonder what happen if I click on this - Ooops

I'm 100%it's psi, it even comes up on the screen telling you what type of measurement you're in and that's both the pump and the guage. Funny thing is it's only on the bike tires, checking the car both things give the proper readings. As long as I set it to pump half of what I need on the bike I'll be ok. Never seen anything like it but as long as it pumps them up im happy.  Thanks for the reply, always nice to see what other people think.. 👍
