Right Heel Cover & Break Switch

Hello,

I need to adjust my break light switch on a XL125V but its right behind the steel heel cover which is secured with a large bolt. The Haynes manual doesn't say I should remove this plate and I'm not sure the spring even comes off the foot peddle without removing the heal cover.

How can I adjust the rear break light switch?
