Hi everyone,
I wanted to share with you what I found on the net, it seems that Honda is reusing the 1100 twin-cylinder engine from Africa Twin for other home models, there would also be a Crossover in the pipeline, who knows if a Varaderro "stepdaughter" will be born from this project ???
https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/news/2020/november/honda-developing-cb1100x-for-2022
From this rendering, it looks more like a Yamaha Tracer 9 road type, but the CB500X was born with a 17 "front, then moved to 19" inches to give it a certain aesthetic and driving setting, and now if they make a new "sister" with the same code, do they do it with a 17 "front?
Let's say that in reality, at Honda, it would fit both with the 19 "as an off-road vehicle, and with the 17" as a GT (anti Tracer 9 !!)
We'll see, of course, I personally hope they realize it with the 19 "to have a worthy heir to the Varadero at Honda !!!
What do you think about it??
We'll see!!

Interesting but very much speculation.
Many years ago top Japanese bods attended a VIM to query why weren't buying Crosstourers as Vara replacements. They got some forthright views about styling and engine configuration.
The Crosstourer has been quietly binned and using the AT 1100 powerplant would make sense in a range of top end bikes in different forms to cover the market. Remember the Vara engine was also featured in the Firestorm.
Having owned an AT DCT for three years I found it a cracking engine and gearbox set up but "let down" by the 21 inch front wheel for hard road riding.
An Adventure styled 1100 DCT ROAD bike, 17 19 wheels would certainly attract my interest and offer a replacement to my aging (heavy) Vara.
Watch this space!

I can still do all the things I could when I was 21, but now it is with less teeth.

Hi Dog, thanks for your answer!
I've never had the pleasure of riding a CrossTourer, but I joined the forum and polled the owners' opinions a bit, and the bike looks very different from the Vara, a very powerful engine, but little protection from the air and considerable weight! In summary, not suitable to be the heir to the Vara.
Even KTM, makes its twin-cylinder "Adventur" with 21 "and 19" front, and I believe that an in-off-road vehicle with a 19 "wheel and a little more air protection, would suit us perfectly near to Africa Twin.
Let's see if this time Honda will fulfill our wishes ??
The Japanese manufacturers are so good at making good bikes, so good at disillusioning dreams !! (... we want to talk about Yamaha that 2021, instead of renewing it, stops producing the Super Tenere 1200 !!! ..)
We'll see!
A greeting!
