Varareco

Sat on one last weekend and I'll be booking a test ride soon.
First impressions:
Very nicely put together.
Suspension feels similar to Vara; softness and travel (remember I only sat on it)
Footpegs are tiny and if I bought one I would certainly change. They're about 2.5 inches and not comfy. (see pic)

It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to seek permission.

You know you have to have one so just get on with it (but don't tell Ginger until you've got it).

I wonder what happen if I click on this - Ooops

A few weeks from now and I'll start the course to get a full licence and the new Africa Twin was top of list for future bike. That was until I did an insurance check :)
I'll get one in a few years, once the prices drop and my experience grows.

You need to tell us more.
Is the one with DCT?
What are your first, second and third impressions?
Does it piss all over a certain Ginger bike? Can't believe he went for one of those. Especially after he he slagged my GSA off at VUK Norn Iron.
Next bike is a toss up between the Africa twin and the new Triumph Explorer. Need to test ride both soon.
All the best and I hope you are still smiling mate.

I can still do all the things I could when I was 21, but now it is with less teeth.

Threw my leg over it on Belfast's launch day. Nice machine , but not for me. To get it up to the spec of my Varadero would be a ridiculous amount of money I couldn't justify. My Varadero has 22k clocked up and I dare say there'll be 22 more. From what I hear they have been selling well, beyond expectation which is no big surpriseafter all. All the best with your new ride. Which non Honda were you on before changing?

Hi  Guys

Went for the DCT as that was the demo model in Belfast Honda.
Rode it on a cold damp Jan day. Did about 50 miles and loved it.

DCT, DSG call it what you want. These systems are getting smarter all the time.
The only thing I miss is a clutch for low speed control.
My tricolour bike arrive Thursday 6th April. I have ordered a main stand, heated grips and a power socket. They will go on at first service I hope.
Collected it from the shop. Cold and windy but 90% dry roads with lots of puddles.
Roads also have a lot of gravel and dirt on them.
Did 45 miles and loved every minute. Big smiles. Riding experience spoiled by playing with all the toys. Hopefully I will find a setting and leave it there.
I used the three levels of sport and manual modes. They are all great. Drive will have you in 5th or 6th at 30mph. So not for me.

I had also ordered the Givi rails and rack to mount my outback boxes which I had on the Super Tenere. So they are now on the bike.
They gritted the roads twice this weekend. So not been out  very frustrating.
But have a trip to France in June with known reprobates which will sort everything out.
