As far as im aware the Zumo 500 only comes with the bike mount, the Zumo 550 comes with the bike mount and the car mount :)

the 500 and the 550 both come with uk and ireland maps installed and all europe on cd to download on to your pc then on to youre sat nav. ;)

My 550 (2 weeks old) came with all Europe pre-loaded and the car mount.

...........mine's got a reset option.

If I get stopped, I can just see myself frantically searching through the menu to find it before Mr plod walks up.  :police:

Yes........best you learn that trick with gloves on......no doubt it will not be admissible as evidence....but it may not help your defense as they say  :D

You're right it does show max speed but what it doesn't do is date and time stamp the recorded speed so I doubt it is any good as evidence, but don't quote me :police: But should you want to clear your max speed in a hurry, do the following...with the screen showing the map hit SPEED in the bottom left hand corner, this shows your max speed amongst other things.  Then hit RESET located bottom middle, max speed is 2nd option which when hit asks if you want to reset max speed NO/YES.  Job done.

S.B. My 550 decides not to wake up at times but all I do is remove the battery for a few seconds then replace it and it starts as normal.

I also use the 550 for music.  I suffer from tinnitus and have a washing machine on full spin in both ears most of the time so an SD card full of tunes is a blessing for me. The Zumo is paired to a Midland BT Bluetooth headset.

It is only when you have a voice in your head telling you where to go that you realise just how annoying the speed camera alerts (Attention Tone) are, this can be silenced by... From the home screen - (WHERE TO? VIEW MAP) hit the SPANNER, scroll down and hit NAVIGATION,  attention tone is 4th option, hit ON then hit OFF then OK.

If you are using a BT Intercom with a pillion set paired to your driver unit the attention tone will drop the pairing.  I think it does the same with the team set.

yep its nice and easy just get yourself a relay and use the signal from the lights to switch the relay

This link takes you to a website with a good description of how to set one up

I'm not sure the Zumo draws enough current to justify a relay.

The easiest way to pick up a switched power line is from the brake light switch - Bl/Br is switched +ve.

Sorry, I've quoted you... they certainly do date/time stamp the speed which is easily available by downloading the track log...

I've always wired mine via the front brake light switch.
Team DNF is now just waiting for another arse kicking...

Thinking about a budget(ish) sat nav for my baby V :applause:, so any one know what the Garmin Zumo 220 is like in action?

Ive got a very basic RAC sat nav for the car, but its not weather proof, has no bike mount and is well out of date for maps  :2funny: It is actually cheaper to buy a new unit than try to get map upgrades for this old unit , so would be good to get a bike one instead  O0

RAC unit works but is soooo basic... one voice.....safety camera alerts on/off.......NO bluetooth..... sound on/off... only seams to work with post codes rather than addresses!!!  Has got full Europe mapping though ;D ;D

Thanks for any comments on Garmin 220  <thanks>

I've just listed my Garmin Zumo 400 on ebay starting ?50 if it is of any interest.

I've got the Zumo 200 on mine. Same as the old 400 but withouth the bells and whistles like Euro maps, Bluetooth e.t.c. Nice and easy to use. No problems so far
