Dear All,

I am planning to tour Germany, Switzerland and Italy this year. This is my first time and may be the last. (Europe is so expensive) I have a Garmin 276C but felt unjust to purchase the Europe City Select map which cost over US$350 for this single trip. Can anyone advise where to find free download map of these countries that can be used by my Garmin unit?

Or any suggestion of bike touring route around or near these countries? (I think Dolomite is a must see)

I deeply appreciate any assistance or advise offered. I would do the same if you guys ever wants to tour Asia.   ;D

Regards,

Franki
PS: I have posted the same at VI site but I thought I may get better response from the English speakers.

Hi Franki

I do not have a GPS so I can not help you there.

I can recommend the Hartzland in Germany, and The Dolimites in Italy.

If you can buy Mitchelin Maps of these countries - check out the ''green roads''. These denote places of beauty and scenery.

Try importing these waypoints into your 276c.

They are Alpine Passes in Europe. See if that works.

Thanks Red, I have downloaded it and will see if I can load it to my 276C. I am newbie to GPS some it will take me a while to learn how to use it.

Anyone knows how to import the Europe maps from Mapcenter to Mapsource and then load it to the Garmin GPS? ::)
