Honda gets engaged

Yesterday Three of us had a friendly and productive meeting at Honda UK and it should see them giving us regular technical and product update information, hopefully some paid advertising in Golden Wing and a full regularly updated events calender.
They have also offered and we accepted the use of their Honda Institute building for our AGM in October free of charge and possibly with some other peripheral goodies thrown in.

They are very happy with our approach of using dealers to support branches and keen to help us with new links where currently we do not have them. They also took on board some of the criticisms of some of the shops and recognised that they need to sort some of the negatives out.

Far from this being a one off meeting they have actually asked us to meet up with them every 12 weeks or so to look at what is happening and what can be done to change things. This is more like the Honda we were dealing with a decade ago which was reasonably fruitful time for us.

Asked about the concept of the Honda weekend extravaganza and they said it was still being discussed and venues investigated. They promised to give us a heads up when plans were looking favourable to it happening.

Test rides were discussed and they reitterated that their dealers have access to all of the range of bikes on request for demo days and test rides to be done. Also they already do 70 dealer or show days a year around the country giving pretty good access to the range. however the did not rule out some more specialised test ride opportunities which we discuss in the future.

That's a step in the right direction!

My dealers got a roadshow this saturday and at present is pretty pissed off because they aren't bring a full set of demo's! Let's hope they change their mind, fancy a go on a 'Wing.
