I have upgraded from a st-pilot 111 to the 2610,can any one who is running this one advise me,The street pilot and bike mount has gone to some one on the forum so i need a new mount, I am leaning towards the touratech as it lockable,(a friend had one stolen while paying for fuel) is this the best way to go.
Is the 2610 water proof it doesn't look as robust as the s-pilot,also on the rear of it there a long rubber flap by the power socket that loosely covers the down load input socket or is there a molding missing like the other end that holds the data card in.

I'm using the 2610 on a RAM mount and extension arm. Looked at the Touratech but would have to mount it on the crossbar and that would be too low and stop me using the crossbar bag which normally houses my walkman. I usaully unplug mine, and slip it in my pocket when filling up, it only takes less than a minute to re-connect it. You could always use the RAM extension arm and replace the winged nut for a Nyloc nut, you could then use it in conjunction with the Touratech mount for added security, which would position it in a safer place to read.

The rubber flap covers the USB connection and external aerial socket. There is no cover for the power connections.

The unit is waterproof and seems robust enough, I haven't broken it yet! The audio is very clear through the comms system. You will need a Garmin power audio lead too. The are all available at www.gpsw.co.uk

Hope this helps.

Version 8 of the Maps is now out if you need to update it.

I know I was born and I know that I'll die and what is in-between is mine, all mine.

I use the Garmin bike mounting kit, which is lockable, attached to a ram-mount fitted to the Heli-Risers on the Pan. You can also get a locking key for the ram-mount arm which replaces the wing-nut.
On the Vara I used the same kit but with the u-clamp fitting on the left bar.
The power lead and speaker lead come with the Garmin setup for about ?20
