I haven't come across any recent talk about helmets and wondered what the most popular ones are and what the general consensus is re flip tops?

S Barker

Flip tops are convinient if you need to talk to people without taking your helmet off.

They are noisier & heavier than normal helmets.
I wonder what happen if I click on this - Ooops

Sdapeze

I love my Nolan N43 jet helmet. With the Varadero screen I can leave the visor up at all speeds if I want. Certainly not heavy as it doesn't have a mouth section. Plus it takes the neat N-Com speakers that make using the phone or iPod easy. I do have a full face but I get claustrophobic with it plus the all round vision is not so good. It's personal preference.
Longinus Sdapeze, oldest recorded inhabitant of Camulodunum, a Thracian cavalry officer who died in the year 50AD. If he were alive today he would have ridden a white Varadero with ABS, heated grips and a Palmer screen. Probably! Just like mine.

Well i love my shark Evoline Series 3 Fusion it lets me have my cake and eat it.

Its legal either up

or down.

So most of the time i can ride with it up and feel the wind in my hair (beard hair), but if its cold or wet i can just drop it while riding and its a full face lid.

and not too scary a price, and has a few fun colors if your not in to white like i am

The Shark Evoline looks very good, an unusual style having the fliptop go right back. Don't think I need to worry about the wind in my beard-not yet anyway. Will try that out as I'm looking for a new one. Thanks.

Schuberth C3 Pro for me - utterly fabulous lid  ;D

Weight isn't too bad at all, super comfy, very quiet, super easy visor removal and refit, top notch build quality - the only down side is it's a damned pricey bit of kit.
