Morning all
Heading off to the Tatra Mountains via Germany and Czech Republic on 30th June.
Looking for any info / awesome road specs / bike friendly hotels or other interesting stuff from the great resource that is this forum.
Let me know what I must not miss!
Thanks all

Hello Mark,
I did the Tatra mountains a few years ago from Poland over to Slovakia. I've checked the maps and it looks like we did Oswiecim (Auschwiz) Morysina, Wadowice, Rabka, Nowy Targ, Zolior, Spisska bela, Kezmark and then Poprad.
From what I remember a stunning route, beautiful countryside but rather interesting road surfaces.

Enjoy, Simon

Cheers Simon
Did you come back the same way?
We are going south and coming up through the Tatras from the South, then looping back West.
Any places to avoid?
Any great places to stay?
Thanks again
Mark

Hello Mark,
No we went from Poprad across to that years VIM in Hungary where we made the acquaintance of one Big Dave, got horribly drunk and fell about in the woods trying to find our way back to the accommodation by the light of a mobile phone! but that's another story.
From Hungary it was Austria, Germany and home. No places I would avoid.
One place to stay in Poland did stand out. A great hotel out on its own in the country. It was great for bike security. Some bits of Poland can be a bit tasty that way, security can be an issue. If your planning a visit to Oswiecim we had a taxi there between 6 and it worked out very reasonably.
Get back to me for the name/location of this place if you want. It'll take some time for me to find it.
