SEAT HIGHT

Has anyone lowered the seat hight of the 1000. and if so who did they use to do it and did it upset the bar, seat, footpeg relationship. The general question really is how practical and sucessfull is the mod. Any help would be appreciated.

I just waited for the crappy rear shock to sag enough that I could get my feet on the ground

It is possisble to take 2/3 inches out of the seat height by modifying the seat mounting and the padding in the seat.  It is a DIY modification.  It works well and you can end up with a more comfortable saddle.  

Are you prepared to attack you saddle with a carving knife and a hack saw?   For more information we really need to know your leg length and your weight!

beware of things that just look good!,when i bought my varo it had un be-known to me a cut down seat,whilst i was able to put my dinkys down onto the floor after about 50 mls was it painfull,i will admit to having perhaps a bit more weight pressing down in that area i could not understand that all the write ups said how comfortable how this bike was,and i hated it,so prior to a rally in holland of to a seat bike mender-maker and to his credit the best 250.00 i ever spent a custom made seat comp with gel pads,seat on a roller don't get much better,having tried a standard seat i still think this is the best and certainly the cheapest option.this then got me thinking jeus ive spent some serious money on this bike on one thing or an other,still love it though.cheers Owen
