Odd noise when cold

Hi,

Looking for a little help with my 2008 Varadero. I'm in Newfoundland Canada so no one seems to know what's normal with noise on these beasts. I'm getting a metallic tapping noise after cold start up once idle down reaches around 1500 rpm for 15-20 seconds. The noise disappears at that time and doesn't happen again until the next cold start. Is this normal noise? The bike runs great and has only 7700KMS on her. She was parked for a 4-5 year span so wondering if the CCT got weak from being loaded and not started for so long. It could be normal noise as this is the first V-Twin I've owned so maybe after running Wings and I-4's for so long I'm just being overly concerned about the different noises she seems to make. Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Hi

If it's a 2008 it's unlikely to be a problem with the CCT's.

My previous 2003 model used to have a ticking sound whenever the engine was anything other than hot.  It ran for years without any problems.

A V-twin is a very different beast to an I-4, not quite so much power but much more smiles per mile.
I wonder what happen if I click on this - Ooops
