What could be the problem?

Hi all.

I?m new to the world of bikes, I?ve been riding for a little over a month now. I?ve got myself an XL125 2010 and have recently been having some electrical problems with it.

At first I thought it may have been the battery as it would start when I jumpstarted it. A few times it had struggled to start when turning over but managed it. However now when I try to jumpstart it the bike doesn?t start. I bought a new battery and wired it up but the bike still doesn?t start.

All the lights and electrics come on when I turn the key, but when I press the ignition button there is a single loud click and then nothing. The bike isn?t even trying to turn over. My father thinks it could be the regulator but due to it not turning over I think it may be the starter motor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou!
