REAR BRAKES
« on: June 22, 2020, 03:20:42 PM »
Hi All,

Newbie here.

I have an issue that seems to be common, however no matter what i search I cant find a reason/fix.

Rear brake caliper is being activated but not releasing causing the centre piston/Linked to front brake to cease on.

I have try tirelessly to resolve but cannot. Can anyone give the reason for this.

Very bored with stripping down just to have the same issue and ruining pads

Heeeelp!!!!!!!

The slave activating cylinder (or its hinge pins) on the front left hand caliper is seized or sticking.

Plenty of other posts on here on the subject if you use the search function.
I wonder what happen if I click on this - Ooops

Yeah , Just trying all different term searches but to no avail.

What specifically would you search for or is there a definitive remedy for this common problem???

Have you checked the front left caliper is free on its hinge and the slave cylinder is not seized ?

Yes, the whole caliper should be free to swivel around the bottom bolt. You should be able to rock the caliper a small amount by hand.

Please post a photo of the "Slave" that you rebuilt .

Thanks

So if that's working OK and the bottom hinge is free the next thing on the list is air bubbles.

How did you bleed it after you had serviced the slave cylinder ?
